Touchstone Glass workshop

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all well and are having a lovely summer. I wanted to see if anyone might be interested in taking a weekend workshop at Touchstone on Sept. 14-16, with Kit Paulson. It looks really interesting and I have signed up, but it may not run unless there are a couple more students.

So, if your schedule will allow, it would be great to see you and take the workshop together.

 

This year, Touchstone is doing better all around in filling classes, except  in the glass studio. Not sure why, but as I am on the board now, I would like to work on getting the glass studio utilized more. Suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Nice to hear from you.  Kit Paulson looks like a really interesting artist.  I'm sorry to say I'll be in NY for a show that weekend.  I'm glad to hear Touchstone is doing well.  It's been a while since I've taken a class there, but I have lots of good memories.  Maybe next year

I am glad you shared. It looks great but I am not around either. Sept is always getting ready for Christmas and lots of shows. I have a big Skull show that weekend… I was invited to sell. Hope everyone is doing well. Also that is Art on Fire at PGC. We are taking my daughter and her new husband…well more like their year anniversary. Hugs to you all. Miss you!

 

Maybe I will see some of you for the Bead Show at RIDC park on Oct 26 weekend.

Hi Joy,

I'm glad to hear things are going well this year. No dates for classes I wanted to take worked for me this year and the 14 to 16 doesn't either. I tried to take Kits class once before but it was canceled that year too. Maybe next year.

Thanks everyone for all the comments about the weekend glass workshop with Kit Paulson at Touchstone. I guess I will find out soon if it will run or not. Sounds like lots going on in everyone's lives, and that is a good thing... 

Marianne, I wanted to let you know that there were a couple kids programs this summer, one was a 3-day camp and 2 different 1 day clay workshops. My Granddaughter participated in the one in August and it was nice. I am not sure why the full week programs were not scheduled, but I will inquire about it. I know that Bridget Mayak did such an excellent job with the children's programs in the past. 

Tracey, sorry the price is so expensive for the Three day class. 

I appreciate feedback since I am on the board now. So let me know what else you might suggest in order to get more glass classes to run. 

I have been looking at other places to take classes from some of the Rock star glass artists and they are all pretty pricey. I saw this conference advertised in the ISGB magazine, but it was Really expensive, but looked so awesome. I would love to take a class with Kristina Logan.

Sorry your class didn't run. I had travel plans  and will just be getting back from France for Kits class. I havent been on campus for 2 years due to other commitments when classes I would take are offered. Perhaps next year but I said that last year. Lol

 I'm glad to hear you are on the board and have ideas to offer. I know it is frustrating at times but best of luck to you in your support of Art.

It turns out the class is going to run after all! Yeah! I will let you know how it turns out. I will be totally out of my comfort zone with working a new way with boro.

Diana, I think open torch is doable, but not sure how the pricing will go. But I have a meeting next week with the programming committee and I will talk about this as a possibility.

I hope everyone is enjoying a nice holiday weekend. So sad to see summer ending...
