Artisan's Asylum Inc.
It's been awhile since we've had a meetup; time to remedy that! This meetup's meant for current and future users of 3D printers, as a chance to share knowledge and tips. There's no admission. Bring any projects you'd like to show off. If you'd like to bring in anything to demo, such as a printer, scanner, software, etc., please do (and post a comment here, if you would); there's plenty of table space.
We'll start with three 10-minute presentations by local users:
* "BlocksCAD: OpenSCAD for People Who Can't Code" by Matt Minuti
* "Laser micro-machining and 3D Printing for Medical and Biotech Devices" by Sarah Boisvert
* "3D printing fractals, atoms, and more" by Mark Stock
These will be followed by informal announcements anyone would like to make: describing a project, asking for help, letting people know of a great resource, etc.
We then break up for socializing and demos, with snacks and soda. At the minimum, Zachary Sherman will demo a Printrbot Simple Metal V1, and I'll probably demo netfabb.
Schedule:
7 pm - arrive and chat
7:15 - the three talks
7:45 - announcements by anyone attending, then let the schmoozing and demos commence!
8:00 - optional Artisan's Asylum tour; worthwhile if you've never been here before
9:00 - time to leave and do great things
