Hi !

I installed the new free version of Google Earth Pro, and noticed that I can only see MY 370Cities panoramas on the map ! (of course I ticked the Photos > Panoramio > 360 Cities option in LAYERS !

Anyone knows WHAT to do to be able to see ALL 360Cities panos worldwide ?

Thanks in advance....

Hi J-P,

I've just checked Google Earth PRO and I can see panoramas all 360Cities panos created by different photographers.

I've also download your kml file and opened it with GEP -> I can see the 360Cities icon of your panoramas:
and other photographers' images (different icon):

I hope this helps. Did you open the GEP with your kml file?

Regards,
Elena

Hi Elena !

Indeed, I just noticed one thing: when I open GE (with the whole Earth showing, only my 360Cities panoramas appears: the ones near Geneva, Switzerland, and the ones on North-East Brazil... but that's ALL ! Although when I zoom in, I start seiing more and more 360Cities panoramas ! Is this correct ?

;-)

Hi J-P,

Yes, that is how GE works when you open GE with your kml file.

Hi J-P,

There is a general issue and some panoramas are not showing in Google Earth. We have been working on this issue from some time now and we are still working on it together with the Google Earth team.

I'll be back to you when I have any updated info regarding this issue.

Regards,
Elena

Hello J-P,

During the last days Google Earth re-imported our panoramas. I am checking them and they are now appearing on GE. Please, ensure your panoramas are appearing on GE. If they are not, let me know it asap.
Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Elena

Hi Elena !

I'm afraid that I had mistaken the "360Cities Status" and "Google Earth" !

"The sea from my balcony" was not selected for Google Earth ! Pity, as I like it and I would have had pleasure to show to some friends, via GE ! May I know why it hasn't been accepted, as it's obviously not a business panorama !

Another ones that haven't been selected by Google Earth is "Tavel House (Maison Tavel)", which is a museum in Geneva, Switzerland !

What is Google Earth policy about the panoramas ?

...else, it seems that all my panoramas, be it from Europe or Brazil, are visible !

Best regards,
J-P.

Hi J-P,

Your panoramas are not selected for Google Earth because they are indoor panoramas. You can check the Google Earth requirements here: https://www.360cities.net/help/google-earth

These panoramas will NOT be selected for Google Earth:

  • Panoramas that are not selected for public display on 360Cities
  • Interior spaces with no or little visibility to the outside. This includes hotel rooms, shopping malls, offices, apartments, etc. Exceptions are usually made for wide perspectives inside places of worship, and occasionally for other interiors that are exceptionally remarkable and beautiful.
  • Trade shows, expositions and similar events
  • Family, personal or posed shots. Generally, panoramas with people will not be selected unless the people are an unavoidable part of the location.
  • Cave interiors and/or confined spaces that don't show a place on earth or are uninteresting, poorly lit, etc.
  • Nudity / obscenity / inappropriate content
  • Political demonstrations
  • Concerts, festivals and similar events
  • Exception: Festival images may be considered if they do not show many people. If several images of the same event are published, usually only one or two (if eligible) will be selected.
  • Exception: City street parades and other similar events may be considered if people are not posing, the location is famous for that event, and if it is a repeating event.

Regards,
Elena

Thanks again Elena !

One thing that bugs me:

"Interior spaces with no or little visibility to the outside. This includes hotel rooms, shopping malls, offices, apartments, etc."

My panorama "The sea from my balcony" shows more OUTSIDE visibility than INSIDE.... In fact, it's a "city and sea-side" panorama showing also a bit of the interior of an appartment !

Shouldn't it be allowed ?

;-)

Hi J-P,

Your pano is now selected for Google Earth.

FYI: there is a new tool "Feedback and online Help Desk" for the 360Cities photographers. You can use it for reporting issues: http://support.360cities.net/

More info: http://blog.360cities.net/new-feedback-and-online-help-desk-for-photographers/
