GPS exif data not recognised in uploaded TIFFs - but works fine for Jpegs

I have just tried to upload a panorama (via browser) in TIFF format for the first time and discovered that 360cities does not read the GPS data in the file like it does for Jpegs. The exif data is definitely there (pano processed in PTGui Pro) - is there something I am doing wrong or is this a known issue?
