Sharing some great news from our friends at San Benito Rising and Californians Against Fracking.  Richard Garcia, Bishop of the Diocese of Monterey, has just agreed to join the Feb. 7th March for Real Climate Leadership!   Bishop Garcia's region covers nearly 60 parishes and chapels.  http://www.dioceseofmonterey.org/parishes-and-chapels.aspx

Bishop Garcia marched with Cesar Chavez many years ago, and his support of our March means quite a bit to the people in the region. This announcement should generate some great interest in coming to Oakland on February 7th!  Hope you are planning on joining us!

GREAT NEWS: Bishop Garcia (Monterey Diocese) says he'll join the Feb 7 Oakland March for Real Climate Leadership! Bishop Garcia marched with Cesar Chavez years ago.

Three San Benito Rising members and Juan Flores (Kern County activist) visited Bishop Garcia on Tuesday to discuss fracking issues. We also discussed hosting a local workshop to support Pope Francis' upcoming encyclical on Climate Change and Economic Inequality. (San Benito County is in the Monterey Diocese.)
