Hi Friends,

It's hot and it's time to peak-bust again today (Thursday 6/11) and tomorrow (Friday 6/12). Usage will be high from 4-11--do what’s safe and possible for your household and build community–we can only do this collectively!

Important: Please report any peakbusting on No Coal No Gas's form so we can track our impact and show our grid operator what is possible! (https://airtable.com/app5VSqJeIDthVPZd/pagpStMWFA12J3Px7/form )

More Details (including about our Peak-busting photo contest!)

1. Between 4 and 11 tonight (6/11) and tomorrow (6/12) use as little electricity as possible.   (And if tonight or tomorrow night isn't your night, that's ok--because we are doing this in a community.) Think about prepping food that doesn’t need to be cooked and gathering with friends. Before or at the beginning of the peak, spend a few minutes looking for anything you can easily unplug like lamps, charging devices, or small appliances. Some devices can use significant amounts of electricity even when off. Here is a full checklist.

2. Reach out to your node, your friends, or your neighbors. Maybe you have a picnic in your local park, go hang out at the library, or go for an evening hike together in the cool woods. Post on Front Porch Forum to invite others to peak-bust or to join you! (Sample posts here to cut and paste).

3. Report what you do! (This part is really important--it is how we know what impact we are having). Fill out this form: https://airtable.com/app5VSqJeIDthVPZd/pagpStMWFA12J3Px7/form

4. Reply to this email with pictures of your peakbusting group we can use to show what is possible! And...for every picture you send you will be entered into our new Peakbusting Raffle! Next week we will draw a winner for this round of peak-busting (prizes include local art!)

I'll be peakbusting in Central Vermont this evening--please reach out if you would like to join me!

Feel free to reach out with any questions and excited to see your pictures!

P.S. 350VT is looking for our next Fundraising Director. Know someone who would be a great fit? Encourage them to apply by 6/18.
