See below from Lisa Lax - the action conflicts with this Monday’s node meeting but is certainly a very viable way to spend your evening:

Volunteers needed to comment on Item on Monday 4/27/26 Burlington City Council Agenda.  This would be a good time to comment on the  negative impact of the McNeil Plant.

-Net Zero Energy Update: The Council will receive an update from Burlington Electric Department on the City's progress toward net zero energy goals.

Hi Natalee,

The meeting starts at 6 pm, with public discussions at 6:30. It seems, however, that I will have to be there before 5 pm if I want to speak up after the BED presentation. I plan to go, so I may miss the node meeting. I have attached below the Net Zero update that was attached to the agenda.

If other people are going as well, can we coordinate a bit so we don't start repeating each other. I plan to point out that the 85% reduction in greenhouse gases, as stated on a recent BED flyer, is based on the assumption that greenhouse gases coming out of the smokestack can be ignored. That assumption, however, is at best wishful thinking. In reality, burning wood causes more pollution than burning coal.

Hi All

Your testimony will be enhanced if you bring a one page summary of bulletin points and turn that into the City Council.
Elected officials can’t possibly remember all your points even by the next day.  But if you turn them in they become part of the public record and last and influence longer.

Proud of all we are doing.
