This month the 350Chittenden Node is highlighting our Transportation Working Group, with thanks to Cora Delucia for reporting.  Please read on to learn about their efforts and get involved if this is an area of interest for you.

The 350VT Sustainable Transportation Working Group is an active & engaged community of advocates with a particular focus on tackling our state’s biggest source of carbon emission: transportation. Due to the extreme budget pressures facing public transit providers across the nation, we have recently been focused on supporting Green Mountain Transit, Vermont’s largest public transportation system. With the support of our wonderful staff liaison Katayoun, we’ve set our 2026 goals and created four subcommittees - Local Action, Statewide Action, Group Building, and Network Expanding - that are already hard at work. This group has a strong organizational structure and clear objectives, making it easy for new members to join and get up to speed quickly.

We look forward to seeing you at one of our meetings or events this year! Our meetings are typically on Wednesday evenings from 7pm - 8pm, and are usually hybrid, with the in-person gathering taking place at the 350VT offices on South Union Street in Burlington. Feel free to email us at transpo...@350vt.org with questions, ideas, or other feedback.

An additional opportunity: Faith Climate Action Day at the statehouse, Feb 19, 1-5 pm. This is not specifically transportation focused, but certainly an action item to consider.
