Fossil Fuel Free Equipment Pledge

Hi all, something I wanted to share that I hope this group will relate to and can help spread.

I have created a pledge called the Fossil Fuel Free Equipment Pledge and have recently created and updated a website where folks can sign the pledge and learn more.

I created the pledge because I saw climate advocates continue to buy fossil fuel burning equipment (cars, heating systems, hot water heaters, etc). I thought it strange because I know these people and I know that they have spent their time and money on advocating for climate and that they know about viable alternatives. but, they couldn't quite make the connection that they should spend time to figure out alternatives for themselves, or maybe pay a little more money, and instead were locking themselves into burning fossil fuels for another 10-20yr.

Unfortunately, we don't really have that much time. 

Anyways, it didn't seem that logical. It seemed like habit was in the drivers seat. So I created this pledge to prompt folks to envision what their life would be like without fossil fuel burning equipment and commit to making a plan to get there.

So take a look and please sign if you are ready and please spread to your networks. 

This isn't about trying to convince anyone, this is just trying to get folks who are already committed climate advocates to treat themselves to the fossil fuel free future. Because if we don't do it, how do we expect anyone else to. We are the ones who can normalize it for everyone else.

Also, I've been doing a presentation, "fossil fuels: how to stop burning them in your home" which goes over some of the alternatives. Please reach out if you or a community of yours would like a presentation like that or some other kind of collaboration in this vein.
