Hi,
I know this has been rehashed many times... But I'll ask again in case there is more to know than what I have already found here.
For many years I rode on a home brewed coil over setup but a few years ago got tired of the harshness and installed stock struts and springs (I have bought the last OEM rear struts Mazda had in America or so I was told). They feel like I'm riding an old Buick... way too soft for my tastes so I need to improve this.
Since I no longer have the old setup I need to start from scratch. For complete bolt on coilovers there are basically 2 offers, KSport and Hot bits.
Hot bits: For a basic street setup, height adjustable with non adjustable dampers that uses the original strut mounts (top plates) I'm looking at 2427$CAD + tx.
Ksport: their basic "Kontrol Pro" setup with adjustable damping and pillow block top mounts is 1508$
+tx.
I don't do any track, rally or auto-x, my GTX is a summer car used for fun, I drive more or less 1000 miles per year. I don't want anything overly stiff, just something that's more buttoned down than what I have now.
Any comments and real world long term use feedback on the 2 options and/or other suggestions are welcomed.
