Summing up the week of action:

roll call:

Robin, Drew
Eric, UCLA
Kosta, UNC Chapel Hill
Tim, Rutgers
Chapin, UA Tuscaloosa
Kati, UNC Asheville

1. Week of action was a big success!

*Virtual group hug*, job well done. Media coverage was really good, and we did a good job giving a public face to this work - 87 schools protesting the war and signed on to the call to action.

2. Summation to share with SDS

Need to share our experience with other SDSers about need for better way of sharing information and making decisions. We need to produce a document that we can present at the national convention with lessons from this campaign; we could also try to put this in the news bulletin; we can wait until after the Rutgers walkout.

Our experience can be a good way to ground the discussion on structures needed in SDS on a national level. For example, having a national listserv would be *really* useful in doing national campaigns.

Regarding political sectarianism, some chapters weren't signing on, it was unclear why not? Part of this is from individuals deliberately boycotting due to the politics of some of the people involved in the working group. Also some folks raised concerns about certain groups that signed the call to action and said they shouldn't be allowed to.

4. People organizing in the working group

Number of people fluctuated a lot, need for more representation from all regions. Could show the importance of a national office for coordinating something like this again.

5. Final press release summing up the protest for the press, Kosta will ask Zack about working on this.
