BlueJ crashed

Hey there Everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that Brian asked me to find someone (not on the team) to install and run the system without assistance.

Richard went through the normal procedures however when he ran the format, BlueJ closed down on him.  Just like what happened to me last night.

I was afraid this might have happened.  Brian and Richard are talking to each other about this right now.

Hopefully we can find what the problem is.

Okay, so while I was writing up this note, the issue of BlueJ crashing ended with Brian and Richard. (Maybe because I wasn't around?)

I wanted to reverify that it still doesn't work on my laptop, so I uploaded Fixstyle into BlueJ, and had the same results as last night.

Not sure what the issue is, but having someone confirm that I wasn't the only one having a problem means that there is a possible defect.  (Even though its DAMN hard to find.  Let alone replicate)

Personally, I think the deadline is right around the corner and there isn't anything that can be done at this time. I'm thinking that we let it go, but put down that there is a 1% chance that BlueJ would crash within the defects.

You were the only one last night to generate that defect.  I tried it on my laptop and others tried it on the lab machines.  It all works.  I don't know what you are doing, but we can't generate your error.

If there is a crash it is VERY important that you get the
bluej-debuglog.txt file and send it to everyone. When this happened on
my computer with jamie's code I looked at the debug log and we were
able to fix the problem right away because we could figure out where
the problem was. Just saying "it crashed after formatting" is like
telling someone to find a needle in a haystack. Especially when the
problem hasn't been very reproducable.

If anyone encounters this bug again PLEASE email the debug log to the
google group.
