올해 뉴욕 컬럼비아 건축대학원에서 가르치고 있는 안양 아파트 재건축 작업과 연계하여 아래와 같은 재.미.있.는. 이벤트를 기획했습니다. 심각한 이벤트는 아니고 건축과 음악이 있는 파티라고 생각하시면 될 듯 합니다.

장소: 연세대학교 공대 앞 

70-80년대 개발주의 정책하에 잃어버렸던 우리 문화의 다양성을 재조명하는 세 작업을 소개하고자 합니다:

• 컬럼비이 대학교 건축대학원  재건축 스투디오는 한국의 전형적이고 획일적인 주거 형태로서의 아파트를 재고하는 전시회를 개최합니다.
• 디제이 소울스케이프의  Sound of Seoul 작업은 미군기지앞에서 발전되었던 70년대 밴드의 음반을 재발굴하여 재연(remix) 합니다.
• 대한민국 아파트 발굴사는 50-60년대 지어졌던 실험적인 아파트와 서울/안양의 도시상황을 영상(VJ-ing)을 통하여 재조명합니다.

This event highlights three projects that deal with the loss of diversity in Korean culture as a result of Developmentalism of the 70s and 80s:

• Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation’s Reconstruction Studio re-imagines the Korean A-Pa-Tu (Apartments) as the dominant, homogeneous residential typology in Korea through exhibition of the studio’s work.
• DJ soulscape’s on-going project Sound of Seoul remixes recovered LPs of experimental Korean bands who performed near US military bases in the 70s.
• Excavation of Korean Apartments revisits the experimental A-Pa-Tu (Apartments) buildings from the 50s and 60s through VJ-ing
