Hi

All boats competing in the Nationals need to be weighed.

There is informal racing at Wakatere this Thursday at 5.30pm and regular club racing on Sunday at 1.30pm. I intend to weigh boats on Sunday before racing and will also do so on Thursday if requested.

We will also weigh boats at Maraetai. At this stage this will take place on Friday morning but may be able to happen on Thursday if I can get the scales there. (First race is at 12.20pm.)

Please note, boats need to be presented for weighing dry with rudder stock (no extension tiller) and control lines (no mainsheet). It only takes a couple of minutes to weigh a boat.

Please also note that masts and booms are to have contrasting bands as per the class rules. https://www.3-7class.org.nz/class-rules.html

Another thing, the YNZ safety regulations state:

Centreboards shall be so secured to the hull that they remain within

the centrecase when the hull is inverted and they shall be sufficiently

strong to support the weight of at least one crew member during

the manoeuvre of righting following a capsize...

Rudders shall be so secured to the hull in such a way that they

remain in position when the hull is inverted...

For our boats, the latter applies to dagger style rudders in particular.
