Hi All,

Looking to be a great event!

  • The yacht club compound will be open Thursday from 1pm onwards. If you need to get in earlier please give me a call and I'll see what I can arrange - 0273199586

  • All boats need to be weighed. The scales will be located inside/outside of the sheds on the right side of the yacht club foyer. There will be a clip board with a list of boats. Please weigh your boat with another 3.7 sailor present and write your weight on the list.

  • Minimum weight is 51.5kg. The boat shall be weighed with all gear and fittings which are fastened to the boat including all blocks, ropes except mainsheet, shackles, wire, toe straps, mainsheet traveller, rudder box and tiller and compass(es), in a dry condition. Not included are foils, spars, sails, portable equipment and extension tillers.

  • Road Trailers - Once unloaded please move all trailers to the grass reserve left of the road as you drive in. This is owned and operated by Port Taranaki. They have a security team who lock the gates over night and open in the morning. However it is still very exposed to the public so recommend a trailer lock (leave at your own risk)

  • Some of us locals might go for a sail late afternoon/evening so feel free to join us to shake off the cobwebs.

  • Last NPYC nationals on the Thursday night quite a few of us met up for dinner at Liardet Street Projects - It is a communal courtyard of food trucks and stalls, offering a wide range of authentic street food and cheap eats at 21 Liardet Street. It’s the perfect spot for when your squad can’t agree on just one type of cuisine.  Open 5pm - 8pm.  After unloading etc most didn't make it down until around 7-7.30pm. See you there.

  • Pack your own lunches for the regatta not much available at the yacht club in this regard.

  • Yacht club kitchen will be open after sailing on Friday for snacks of hot chips etc

  • Saturday evening your entry fee included dinner (remember to get your dinner ticket  on registration)

  • Sunday after racing there will be sausages available pre prizegiving .

  • Bar will be open everyday after sailing.

FYI: If you notice a large amount of cars driving around New Plymouth waving American flags at you - its not because we are all Trump supporters in the naki. There is an event on this weekend in New Plymouth called Americana - https://americarna.com/event/

Any questions please let me know or give me a quick call.

Regards

Paul
