Dear Friends and Family,

Jaimasih!

Bobbie and I arrived in India on Wednesday and to Siliguri on Thursday.  It has been raining heavily each night.   This is unusual because by now the rainy season should be pretty much over.  Please pray that the rains stop before the team arrives in less than a week. 

One of our partners has given some funds to cover part of the roof-top veranda on the new building.  It is an area about 26 feet by 36 feet and will give the team members who will be making furniture a nice place to work.  We just bought the supplies on Friday and the workers started working on it yesterday.   We have been told that they can complete the work within 5 days.   We pray that is true.

The area that will be covered is where the children are standing on the roof on the left side...

The kids had a day off of school yesterday and all 30 of them went to the new house to clean.   They are very excited.  Everyone is smiling:-)  We still are planning on moving them in on September 26th.

OPPORTUNITIES....

I want to share with you a couple of needs (wishes) for the home.   There are two items which would be very useful in the house and are not in our budget.

First of all, we need a large capacity washing machine.   The small one they have now makes it very difficult for the helpers to keep up with the "tons" of dirty clothes.   They do much of the washing by hand, but this takes a long time and is very tiring.   I found a very nice large washer yesterday at a Samsung Store.   The cost is about $500.   Please let me know if you would like to help purchase this item.

The second thing that the kids (and staff) could use is a larger TV.   The one they have is only 20 inches making it very hard for everyone to see the picture.   Until now, the larger TVs have been very expensive here.  However, yesterday I found a 43 inch Samsung plasma TV which also costs around $500.   I would like to buy this as a surprise for the children and the staff.   We would bring it to the home and set it up in the early morning of September 26th before the move.   It would be so wonderful to see the kids faces with this unexpected blessing.

I want to thank all of you who have been praying for this project.   As you know several of the boys and girls in our home were rescued from brothels.   Others came out of slums and some came from very remote and backward communities.   Each one has a painful past. The building of the new home is a miracle.   However, a much larger miracle is the changed lives of all of these precious children who are experiencing the love of Jesus.
