Dear Praying Friends,

Jaimasih,

As you know, Bobbie and I are in India with wonderful team of brothers and sisters from the states who have been working in hot and humid conditions to get the children's home ready for the children to move in on September 26th.   Everyone is very tired, but happy to be here.

The team members are Richard and Nancy Hudson from CA, Mike Begres from MI, Dave Muench from TX, and Marcia Wells, Ralph Peterson, and Joe Clinton (my big brother) from IL.  Besides doing some painting and a lot of cleaning, the main focus of the team is to make furniture - lots of furniture!   By the 26th, our hope is to complete 12 bunk-beds, 12 shelving units, 14 dressers, 8 dining room tables, 16 benches, and 14 units to hang on the wall so that children (and staff) have a place hang their clothes.   If time permits, we may also be making some single beds for staff and some cupboards.

Besides the temperature and humidity, we have also had to deal with a couple of bad storms.   Today, there was a thunder storm in the morning with heaving rain.  We lost power for several hours.   Because we were losing power on a couple of the previous days as well, we decided to buy a generator so that the table saw, pneumatic staplers, and sanders, can be used even when we lose power.

Team members praying on Sunday evening for the arrival 160 pounds of screws which were in transit from Delhi and were needed to build the furniture.   They came the next morning!  PTL!

Please pray for the team and for all of the children and staff as well.  The older kids have been helping when they are not in school.   They are smiling all of the time :-)

In a previous email, I mentioned the need to raise funds to buy a TV and a washing machine.   Those funds were pledged quickly and some of you were disappointed because you wanted to buy them :-)

Here is another chance to help us pay for some needed items.

1. Mattresses for 48 beds ($30 each).
2. Bedding for 20 of the beds ($20 each)
3. Large capacity solar hot water heater ($1500)
4. Large rug in the common room for the children to sit on for devotions and to watch their new TV ($300)
5. Smaller rugs to put between the bunk-beds in each room (12 @ $100 each)

Please let us know if you would like to help with any of these things.

Thank you for your partnership and love.

Love,

Bob

PS:  Today my brother Pat would have been 67 years old.   I miss him greatly, but know that one day we will meet again.   Pat was a tremendous man of God who loved others and led many to Jesus.  Please continue to pray for his wife, Colleen, daughters, Andrea and Lanae, and all the grandchildren.
