Trent Alexander-Arnold makes decision about leaving Liverpool in January

According to sources in Spain, Trent Alexander-Arnold will not leave Liverpool in January, he will play the entire season this year for the Reds.

 The 26-year-old's contract with Liverpool expires at the end of the season, meaning he could leave Anfield as a free agent. Real Madrid have made Trent Alexander-Arnold one of their top transfer targets and, following the injury to Dani Carvajal, who is out for the rest of the season, Los Blancos are looking to sign a right-back in the January transfer window.

Relevo reports that Real have not ruled out signing Alexander-Arnold in January, however, the Spanish side are not confident of their chances of getting the England international away from Anfield before the end of the season.

The source claims Alexander-Arnold wants to leave Liverpool on the best possible terms, ideally winning at least one trophy under Arne Slot this season rather than halfway through the campaign.

Real Madrid are currently deploying Lucas Vazquez at right-back in Carvajal's absence, but Carlo Ancelotti is now facing a dilemma after Vazquez suffered a hip injury in the 4-0 win over Osasuna.

Real initially thought Vazquez would be sidelined until December, but the club's medical team are hopeful he will be available for the Champions League clash with Liverpool at Anfield on 27 November. Alexander-Arnold is also a doubt for that game, having been forced off with a hamstring injury in Liverpool's 2-0 win over Aston Villa.
