Mykhailo Mudryk and Chelsea released a statement on Tuesday, confirming that the Football Association had been contacted regarding the Ukrainian's positive urine sample. Both Mudryk and Chelsea expressed surprise at the finding.

Coach Enzo Maresca spoke to the press for the first time since the scandal broke. And he confirmed that everyone at Chelsea trusted Mudryk in this case.

“We are all upset. We are supporting him fully. We believe in Mudryk. When things like this happen, you have to support your player in every aspect. He is a player in my squad so it is my duty to contact him. We are all there and supporting him.

We believe in Myka, we support him. We want to help him if he needs anything. In this situation, it's normal for him to need help and we're there to support him. We all believe he's innocent."

Mykhailo Mudryk was a highly sought-after player and eventually opted to join Chelsea for £88m in January 2023. However, the 23-year-old has started just 26 Premier League games and one under Enzo Maresca this season.
