Yesterday evening at about 6:30pm was on Shearwater headed back downtown after a Park ride, when a bunch of punks in a vehicle going the other way threw a cigarettle lighter at me hitting me in the shoulder first then struck my face at my eye damaging my glasses.  If it had hit me in the face first, it would have knocked me off the bike or caused serious facial injuries.  As it was, it stunned me, and all I could do was pull off, try to see the license plate, which I could not, and listen to the little stupid hooligans laughing as they sped away.  Went straight to the OS Police station:  they showed their usual lack of caring/understanding.
Beware out there guys and gals, there are idiots galore, and you're on your own!

Sorry to hear that, there are definitely idiots out there.  Just to take the other side, there isn't a lot that OSPD can do without a license plate and/or a real good description.  However, if you do go to them with a good claim and they don't do anything, let me know.  My brother is a sergeant and I'm in his ear all the time about looking out for bikes.
 
They should be especially sensitive about Shearwater where there is a lot of foot traffic as well as bikes.

Sorry to hear that Lawrence.  That just really, really sucks.  What a bunch of punk ass peices of s---!  I'm so sick of these people.
I imagine that you are feeling alot of anger and frustration right now.  Let us know the vehicle description just in case we have another run-in.  This is an awfully small town to try to get away with something like that.

The only description is a small (gold?) sports sedan like maybe a Honda Civic, but I was too stunned and angry and in pain to go after them and they were too far away in the dimming light by the time I looked to make out the plate.

Matt, your brother is awesome. I had some dealings with him this
week, and he showed me clearly that OSPD cares.

Thanks for the warning of idiots on the OS roads. I ride around there
a lot.
