UPCOMING MEETING NIGHTS

May 25 - no meeting (see Victoria Day Parade instead)

June 1 - regular meeting

June 8 - no meeting (see Scout Carnival instead)

June 15 - farewell BBQ - families invited for grilled burgers, dogs,
etc.

VICTORIA DAY PARADE

When: Monday May 24 @ 8 am (we are checking on this and may be able to
push it back to 9:30am)
Where: Meet at Mayfair Mall - holding spot #61 which is in section
C-013 (street-level parking lot)

Cubs should wear their full uniforms and bring one or more of the
following to carry in the parade:

- backpacks filled with camp gear (or juts stuffed full of pillows)
- canoe or kayak paddles
- hiking sticks
- musical instruments
- campfire blankets with lots of badges
- use your imagination - bring anything your Group did that would
portray our Scouting Spirit!

We will walk down Douglas street to Belleville Street and meet for
pick up at the old Cyrstal Court Motel across from the lawn bowling
club. Beavers have successfully walked this route many times.

As a further incentive, any member in uniform that day will get 20%
off at the Podium Sports Grill(531 Yates) for themselves and their
family. The Podium is a sports restaurant, with cheap but good food
and all ages are welcome.

SCOUT CARNIVAL

When; Monday June 7, 6:30 - 8:00 pm
Where: Scout Hall

All Cubs, especially those who turn 11 in 2010, are invited to come
see what the being a Scout is all about. There will be games and
demonstrations of the kind of things they do in Scouts.

YEAR-END FAMILY CAMP 2010

When: Saturday, May 29 to Sunday, May 30
Where: Camp Barnard, the Lodge and surrounding field
Who: All youth and their families
Cost: $20 per person covers all food and fees

Cubs and their families should arrive around 1:00 pm Saturday. Tents
will be provided for youth or families can bring their own. Parents
have the option of sleeping in the lodges.

The Cub section is responsible for preparing breakfast on Sunday so
volunteers will be gratefully accepted for pancake flipping etc.

VANCOUVER ISLAND CUB CAMP 2010
Let your imaginations run wild with Dr.Seuss

When: Saturday, July 10th to Saturday, July 17th
Where: Camp Gilwell near Courtenay
Who: Cubs for 4 months (not youth that just swam up from Beavers)
Why: Camping, swimming, canoeing, crafts, archery, games, etc.
How to register: Phone or e-mail Chris Tickner at 339-2424 or
ecm...@telus.net and be put on the list.
She will send you the required forms.
Cost: $190.00

Last year this camp was very popular and filled up extremely quickly.
We will require a deposit of $100.00 and all your forms within 1 week
to keep your spot on the list. The last $90 needs to be in by June
1st. Call or e-mail Chris right away to save a spot.
