[This message is being sent to the 2009-10 list. The 2010-11 mailing
list will be edited after our first meeting.]
I hope everyone had a great summer and you are ready for another
exciting year of Cubs!
WELCOME BACK NIGHT
When: Tuesday September 14, 6:30 – 8:00pm
Where: Scout Hall, Chester Street
REGISTRATION: For those who did not register already you can fill out
the forms at the hall (or print
them via www.victoriascouts.ca/forms.php). Full cost for the year is
$150. 2nd Fort Victoria Group
Committee has adopted a No Scout Left Behind policy for families that
cannot afford full fees for
registration or activities.
The meeting will start @ 6:30 so please drop-off between 6:20 and
6:30.
CHANGE IN MEETING NIGHT?
There has been a request to change our meeting nights to Thursdays
(same times). If you feel strongly about this - yes or no - please let
me know. I will not be sharing with anyone what individuals prefer.
This decision needs to be made quickly to allow for changes in
planning. So please let me know how you feel about this before the end
of our first meeting next Tuesday.
SHORELINE CLEANUP
When; Saturday September 18, 10:00 am - Noon
Where: Dallas Road Beach (foot of Cook Street)
Once again all sections will be doing their part to clean up the beach
as part of the Great Canadian
Shoreline Cleanup (www.shorelinecleanup.ca). Cubs are expected to wear
their uniforms. All family and
friends are welcome to join the effort. It can be windy and wet so
wear appropriate footwear and bring a
jacket. Sanitary gloves will be provided.
SCOUT SHOP
WHEN: Tuesdays &Thursday, 4-8pm, Saturdays* 10-1
WHERE: 505 Marigold Rd. (between Burnside & Interurban)
INFO: www.victoriascouts.ca/for Scouters/scoutshop.php
The Scout Shop carries uniform items and accessories. The Scout shop
also carries items for camping and
outdoor activities as well as Cub-themed gift items suitable for
holiday gift-giving.
*Scout shop is closed Saturdays of long weekends and holidays:
October 9, November 11 and from
December 11 – January 6.
