B.E/MCA FINAL YEAR REMOTE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM: 2011-12

ü BE- Teams must be of size 3 preferably. In some cases team size of 4 will be allowed. Teams to consist of 7th Semester Engineering students with aggregate marks of >=65% in semesters till date.
ü MCA- MCA students would be allowed to take projects alone and eligibility criteria would be >=65% aggregate marks in MCA semesters till date.
ü Selection Process would be held in Bangalore and would consist of :
1) Aptitude test
2) Programming Language, Data Structures, Algorithm Test
3) Technical Interview
ü Selection would be communicated over e-mail
Timelines:
ü Selection Process and Internship Offers: September 2011-to-January 2012
ü Start of project: November 2011- February 2012 (based on academic requirement)
ü End of Project: May 2012
Important formalities:
ü A formal acceptance letter from the Institution, that this project would be submitted by the student as a Final Year Project as part of the academic requirements and Institution, would be required
ü Formal Internship Letter would be given
ü Non-Disclosure-Agreement must be signed.
Mode of Execution
ü Students to work in the infrastructure provided by the Institution
ü Interaction with the MindTree Technical Guide
o Daily Activity Mail
o Status E-Mails on need-basis or weekly
o Bi-Weekly Progress Report Mails
o Telephonic Communication: Any number of Calls based on a need but scheduled 24 hours early by the Campus Minds or the Guide
o Free flow of e-mails on all matters related to the Project
ü Out-station teams can make a visit to MindTree Campus, cost of which would be reimbursed by MindTree- the date will be communicated to the teams by the Campus TA team.
ü In-station teams to visit MindTree Campus based on a frequency setup by the Internship Project Guide.

ü Infrastructure – Computers, Software, Communication Infrastructure, Computational Resources, Internet

Expectation from students:

ü 30 hours per week for the entire duration of the Internship Project, additional hours when required
ü Pro-active communication and timely escalation
ü Proper usage of E-Mail and Telephone & adherence to standards of Corporate Communication
ü Regular Status Reports and Timely completion and submission of deliverables
Rewards:
ü All Projects completed as per the MindTree Standards will earn a Certificate as required by the Academics
ü 3 teams would be identified for the ‘Best Project’ Cash Award of INR10000 and a Special Certificate
ü Good performing Referral Teams would be presented with an offer to join MindTree subject to the Business realities next year
