With this email I would like to announce the Webex which will follow on from our E-discussion on cost-effective boreholes on the 11th December at 15:00 central European time.
It will involve key questions and responses from panel comprising:
· John Chilton of the International Association of Hydrogeologists
· Baffo Bello of Forta Water in Nigeria (private sector driller)
· Dr Peter Harvey of UNICEF (East and Southern Africa)
· Dr Alice Aureli of UNCESCO
· Thato Setloboko of the Government of Botswana
We shall be posing this group key questions in relation to five of the key issues that came out of the E-discussion (see page 15 in the E-discussion summary - http://www.rural-water-supply.net/en/resources/details/423):
· Ensuring high quality drilling supervision
· Policies where drillers are not paid for dry wells (no water no pay)
· Effective regulation of water well drilling
· How to improve the collection and management of groundwater data
· Manual drilling
You will also have a chance to propose questions and issues to the audience.
We are limited to 200 participants. If you would like to attend, please register with Robert Kerins (rke...@unicef.org) by Friday 7th December. Robert will provide you with the link to the webex.
We look forward to continuing the discussions and seeing how groundwater development can be vastly improved.
