Dear Cub Parents,
On Saturday we introduced the plant badge which we will start the week after camp on 15th March. See attached the handout detailing what is required to achieve this badge. On the 15th we will plant some seeds in a pot of soil and will provide everything to do this.
We will then ask the cubs to bring back their plants  in May  - with some form of documentation/presentation on their observations. They can present this in any way they wish. A suggestion is to make a plant diary including drawing pictures or taking photos along the way.
Don't worry if their plant dies, as long as they can understand and document their plants journey then they will still get their badge.
They have also brought home a couple of beans each. If they want they can start to grow this bean in a jar. They can also bring this is on the 15th March to plant in some soil if they wish.
NB - the bean is not mandatory to getting the badge and just a bit of extra fun if they want to do it. We will provide seeds to plant on the 15th for everyone. Here is the link to growing a bean in a jar if your cub wishes to do so.

Thanks
Wendy
