Dear Cubs and Parents
1. Our next cub meeting will be held at
3pm
on 17-May-14 (Sat) at DBIS (primary section). Duty Six will be Blue
Six and should arrive at the school hall by
2:45pm to help set up the
flag. Game Six will also be Blue Six and are to prepare for 2 games.
2.
We will introduce the requirements for the photography badge and continuing the evaluation for the Computer, Knotting and
Planting badges. Please bring what you have prepared. We ask that
parents in attendance to assist with the evaluations.
3. Uniform
requirements - All Cubs should be in full uniform.
4. All cubs should bring along the following personal items to the meeting:
(i) a clean handkerchief;
(ii) an Octopus with stored value not less than $10;
(iii) a ballpoint pen & paper;
(iv) a bottle of water for drinking.
5. As many of you are aware, the Dolphin Watch was cancelled last Sunday. We are following-up for the next available date.
6. Next week we are tentatively planning to go to the Heritage Museum. We are working to finalize the transportation arrangements today and hope to have the details and permission slips out before the meeting tomorrow.
7. On 8-Jun-14 we have scheduled the Huan Adventure Ship (
http://www.adventureship.org.hk/index.html). We need confirmation (Permission form & Health Declaration) and payment no later than 24-May-14. Attached are details and the two forms.
7.1 If your Cub is interested and not taken the swim test, our qualified swimming test assessor, Darren Barton, will be hosting one swimming test at the DB beach on Saturday, 17 May 2014 (tomorrow morning)
. This is the last chance for members of 29th to take the test before the above water activities in June.

What to bring:
A set of T-shirt and shorts to wear when you are swimming
Towels and toiletries, flip-flops
Test requirements
1. Be able to swim 50m in the sea with clothes on
2. Be able to recognise flag signals (coaching will be provided on the day)
7.2 There are a limited number of spaces available for Cubs and a few parents. Priority is given to Cubs, but we will accept applications (with payment) from interested parents. If spaces are available they will be provided to parents on a first come first serve basis. If the space is not available, we will return the cheques.
