Caroline,
I have VERY limited bandwidth these days. Unfortunately I won’t be able to make it.
The decisions you’ve made make sense.
You can list me as an advisor/mentor for the grant if it’s helpful. I will be able to stay involved, but will have limited bandwidth. Good luck on the grant!
Thanks,
- Adam

Hi Adam,
Next week on Tuesday May 7th, 4:00-4:10 in the Cal design lab (ie. our classroom) is our project final review and we would like to invite you!
In the meanwhile we choose to develop the easy switch (cf. image). Our motivations to go in that direction were:
- the price of the item -the clock would have likely been an expensive item-
- the fact that many users found they were not at home during peak -so a device would ensures that your main devices are turned off when you leave your house could actually be the most beneficial.
It would be great if you could join for the review.
Besides this final review, Alice motivated us to apply for a funding grant to keep working on the project next year and we are very motivated by this opportunity. Here the information about this grant:
http://nciia.org/eteam_program
For this application, we will keep both the easy switch and the demand-response clock.
We will unfortunately loose Sisi and Vu from our team (as the grant is for next year, all students from the team need to be still studying and they will be finishing this year). We are currently looking for further students with complementary background (economics
for instance) and we have some contacts.
The grant application is also asking for potential partners, mentors, advisors and we would be more than glad if you would accept to keep working with us. Deadline for the application is May 10th (but UC Berkeley asks us to hand a first version of our documents
by Friday). If you are interested, please let me know.
Thanks again for all your help.
We hope to see you next week,
Caroline
