Pandora box what a paradox
by Alem Hailu G/Kristos
As it may sound sad
Via outmoded and traditional
Marriage got spliced mom and dad
To form a family tree-grand.
Without bickering and with
A silent communication with each other they
Used to understand, “How are you honey?”
Praise the Lord “I am Good
Thank you darling,” was the way they
Exchanged greeting every morning.
Faithfulness was
The whole mark of their marriage
As runs the adage, let it be known
“A noble wife is her husband’s crown!”
As it may prove to practice hard
He was ever by her side,
More than himself, her to guard.
To a civilized children remains a mystery
Description that defy how and why,
Their marriage has surfed time’s tide
As though they are still
A bridegroom and a bride.
But we ,their siblings, tied the knot
The modern way “I saw a dove,
I am afraid I am in love!”
“I am attracted by a Lothario
Who liked me to greet
I am afraid I am swept off my feet!”
Cheating on each other, put us asunder.
Bickering on financial issues which was rife,
Marred our marriage
Including our children’s life.
