New 4 server cluster. Added 3 phone numbers to the system. In the Monster-UI SmartPBX, when managing numbers, if i click the gear, i only get "prepend" as an option. Also, if i set my E911, the message continues to appear at the top.

When looking at hte numbers in the number manager app, i also only have the "prepend" option. If i click the "Sync" button, after it refreshes, i then get "caller-ID, E911, Failover, Prepend" as options, but even after setting E911 there, i still get the message in smartpbx that is has not been set. I also lose the rest of the options after refreshing.

In the DB, when looking at the numbers, i see the E911 info set.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? I have still not  been able to resolve this.

There seems to be some missing pieces in Monster UI.  I installed Kazoo-UI side by side with Monster-UI to fill in the gaps for now.  Kazoo-UI still works on v4 as well.  Not an ideal solution but I don't know enough about JavaScript to try add any of these things to Monster myself.

This is not a missing piece.

There are two components of E911 (same in Kazoo UI and Monster UI).

The first is setting E911 at your provider. This is done in Number Manager with the E911 button. The problem with Kazoo UI is it would show that button, even when a provider isn’t configured. Which is dumb, it doesn’t do anything. Monster UI is smarter – it hides the button if you haven’t configured an E911 provider because it means you set E911 yourself by logging directly into the provider’s website, not through Monster. Which is correct. This all has to do with provisioning the address to the phone number.

The SECOND component of E911 is what actual Caller ID to send if someone dials 911. It’s common that  people setup a single 911 address for an entire account, to avoid charges on all numbers for E911 service. In this case, you’re just setting Emergency 911 Caller ID. That exists in Monster because it doesn’t require a provider. You can do it in the advanced callflows, or you can do it in SmartPBX if the numbers and it will default to the main number on the PBX.

Thanks Darren, The E911 makes sense, and i can just turn that off per account and set it myself at the provider level. The rest of it still puzzles me though. I dont see the "Caller ID" and "Failover" options, until i go to spare numbers and click "Sync". after doing that, thos drop downs appear.

That one actually sounds like a bug. It’s supposed to add the new number services features to each number. I wonder if it’s not doing that when you manually add numbers.

Can you file that please?
