Hi,

I have been checking the developer's API on 2600hz wiki page. but seem not to be seeing any API on SMS. doesn't SMS support as stated on the 2600hz.com features page?

If SMS is supported, where do i read about it API and is SMSC supported?

I don't believe James has checked that in yet but it's SIP-based MESSAGE support, not SMSC.

And that said, we'd add SMSC if someone had a provider we could test with :-)

Darren,

Did you integrate with any SMSC?

Hi,

We are also interested in the SMS support and will try to provide a SMSC settings from our partner, if that can help.

Vitelity offers it, since their API is integrated already theres some familiarity there. I can provide the DID and API credentials if that would contribute. Here is their current functionality via API.

    checksms
    removesms
    smsdids
    smsenableurl
    sendsms
    setsms
    smsenablehtt
    sendshort
    listsmsurl
    listsms
    smstoemail

Darren,

More than happy to give you access to resources I have with Voxbone for SMSC capabilities.

Although, it seems you already work with Voxbone based on seeing your name and company info come up every time I go to login to my account there :)

Best,

Aaron

Around 5:20

They discuss using Kamailo to connect SIP message to HTTP API for SMS.

Configs flash on the screen.

It should be possible to create a SMS carrier in much the same way a fax carrier is defined. (ie flags)

Send the SIP message to the fake carrier you create which is Kamailio->SMSC.

I've no idea how SMS is triggered within Kazoo for outbound or how it's handled on inbound.

"Doodle" appears to be the key to handling that part.

I'm just curious what end user functionality is available.  Voicemails arrive and you SMS notification that they arrived instead of email?

In my experience businesses (ie PBX clients) don;t tend to use SMS much.

I've never yet had a "real estate professional" PBX say, I sold a house form the SMS that worked form my business DID even though our company offers SMS DID's.

You'd think for example people might SMS message to the phone number on a real estate sign.   "hey call me, I want a tour of the house".  Very rare in my experiences.

If the end client mix has home or mobile users in it then they will expect some SMS functionality obviously.
