Hi! it's been so long since we've really done anything on the group - it's nice to get something that gives me an email. how are you? Have you heard from anyone else?

I'm in seminary now and am working as a pastor of a small United Methodist church in rural Kansas. I love it. The people are warm and welcoming, and my little parsonage looks out over a corn field and some of the prettiest hills around. This part of the country was formed by glaciers so it has these lovely rolling hills - not the stereotypical "flat Kansas" that people normally think of.

School is hard and I'm studying a lot, but the classes are interesting. right now my hardest class is my Hebrew Bible class. We finished the Torah and quite a bit of the history, now we're studying the writings of the prophets. I love it but there's so much to learn this semester! I think we should spend at least two semesters on the Hebrew Bible, maybe then I'd feel like I had a grasp of it. I'm not like a lot of Christians in that I've always loved reading the Hebrew Bible (many Christians only read the New Testament and maybe the Psalms) but come on, there's like 2000 years represented in there and I have a one semester class?

Anyway, I hope things are going well, would love to hear from you.

Hi Patty!

Great to hear from you ...
I have been exchanging emails with U.N.C.L.E.

Still nostalgic for Jack (A.L.I.A.S.)
None of the series on now seem to fill the void.

I have never watched hospital shows and I think that Vartan is a better spy than doctor (the boy looks LOST in the hospital) LOL.

UNCLE told me about Nikita which is better by far than Covert Affairs and more with a serious tone than Undercovers.

So, dish ... what are you watching???

P.S. I thought that you worked at a hospital?  Well, good people at hospitals have a spiritual side, too.  I encourage anyone who makes an effort to addd positive vibes to the world.

ALIAS FOREVER ... or, at least until we figure it out ...

I used to work at a hospital but things change. I have been watching Burn Notice. I suffered through one season of Covert Affairs and disliked every episode - but I thought, sometimes it takes time for characters to develop. They all can't grab you right out of the gate like the first episode of ALIAS. But with Covert Affairs it never happened. I've never heard of a CIA agent that didn't carry a gun or that looked so completely helpless the entire time she was on the screen. I also tired of the relentless references to her sexuality. The show isn't returning until September 2011 which is odd, but I won't be watching it.

I have been enjoying Human Target and was happy it was renewed - it was in doubt. If you haven't seen it, you can watch three of the pivotal episodes on Hulu.com. The Baptiste episode is really great.

I don't have a lot of time for TV, on Hulu or not, so Burn Notice and Human Target is it for me. Since they're both on a season hiatus, that means I get more studying done!

Nothing compares to Alias. Nothing.

Patty!

It's great to hear from you. We just had our 40th high school class reunion. Seems like I'm reconnecting with people from all over:)

1- All Alias fans I have talked to about Covert Affairs say exactly what you said about it.
2- There is nothing better on TV than Human Target and Burn Notice. But I am also watching Nikita, Fringe, Warehouse 13, Chuck, Hawaii 5-0, The Event, and V when it returns. Having watched since the start, I'm not even interested in the latest episode of Undercovers.
3- I have a friend who is a UM pastor here in Amarillo. We went to school together, grade school through most of college. His name is Stan Cosby and he's a really great guy.
4- I read OT as well as NT. I don't understand people who don't.
5- I'm staying busy (in these times it is mostly trying to find or create new sales) with my jewelry store, my jewelry website (www.SamaritanArts.com) and my spy website (www.TheUncleGun.com).
6- Here, except for Palo Duro canyon where the land drops down like the Grand Canyon, the land is about as flat as it can be. I bet the hills are nice.

Thanks,
Brad

I forgot another great spy series, "Rubicon." It's on AMC, but they don't post the episodes to watch online. However, here is a link to a site that has it and many other shows online:

Thanks,
Brad
