Damn damn damn the update for the Vizio Tablet SUCKS BIG TIME.

I wish I knew that Vizio would move their buttons onto the screen with their
update to Android 3.2 because that means that everything that used to use
full screen can no longer use the full screen.

After upgrading my Vizio Tablet from Gingerbread to Honeycomb today I found
a whole bunch of things that do not work the same and Vizio will not let me
go back to the way it used to work before their upgrade so I filed a
complaint.

But when I asked about the wording on my complaint all I got was a watered
down version of my complaint so I'm putting my entire complaint in this
post:

My case number is: 2403308
The person that watered down my compliant was Renee or #423

My entire complaint follows:

1. Nothing goes full screen anymore because the applications have to share
the bottom part of the screen with buttons that used to be below the screen.
I wish I'd known that was part of Android 3.x earlier.

Four of the applications that can no longer to full screen are Youtube,
Browser running youtube, Slingplayer and Dish Remote Access. But given how
many applications I've seen that can no longer go full screen I'll bet they
update to Honeycomb also effects every game program out there.

----------

2. But the lack of full screen is not the biggest issue. The biggest issue
is how the browser works when you go to youtube.com and that it works
differently if you go to m.youtube.com or www.youtube.com.

If you go to m.youtube.com your two finger commands no longer work so forget
about zooming in on small print so you can tap on exactly what you want to
tap on. Then after you tap on a video you have to tap on the video to start
it to play. But after you tap on the video to start the video to play all
you will get is black for the video then you will not be able to pause the
audio after that since the audio is all you end up with since all you see of
the video is a black screen.

If you end up at the desktop version that is actually
http://youtube.com/?nomobile=1, select a video it will ask if you want to
play it in the browser or youtube. If you play it in the browser it will
start automatically so you don't have to tap anywhere to start it but once
you tap on the video to pause the video chances are you will never be able
to restart the video. Or if the video restarts for some reason you will
never be able to pause it again.

What the Renee kept telling me is Android is Application orientated just
like the iPhone and if you want to watch youtube videos you will now have to
use the youtube application.

She also kept telling me that the other applications will be updated to
Honeycomb and I told her I've seen Adobe claims they will no longer support
a flashplayer for mobile so that means the problem with the flashplayer,
which I blame for the problems with the Android Browser will probably never
be fixed.

Bottom line is, Vizio should have left their users a way to back out of an
update if all it is going to do is screw up a lot more things up than it
fixes.

I wish I knew exactly where I heard that Adobe was going to give up on their
flashplayer for Mobile because that is what I really need to face the people
at Vizio that think the problem with the browser, where tapping on the
screen no longer does anything, will be fixed in time.

Any input?

TIA
Rocky

While I have not found a fix the for problem with m.youtube.com I have found
a work around for the problem with the following site:
http://youtube.com/?nomobile=1

After you tap on the video to pause it you have to scroll down on the page
and then tap on "show more" or "show less" before you tap on the video to
restart it.

I still think it is a problem with the Adobe Flashplayer and that Vizio is
trying to run Honeycomb with a flashplayer that was only designed for
Gingerbread.

Since I suspect the version of Adobe Flashplayer to be the root of the
problem with the Honeycomb Vizio Tablet I checked out a few more things.

1. Turns out the Vizio Tablet with Honeycomb is stuck on Version 10.3 of
the Flashplayer where other Android devices are up to Version 11 now and
that appears to be the exact same version it had when it was running
Gingerbread so it could be using the exact same Flashplayer that Vizio is
using with Honeycomb that they used with Gingerbread. Even though there is
an upgrade for the Flashplayer available it will not load on the Vizio
Tablet.

2. Playing youtube videos from a website with embedded youtube videos can
be more trouble than it is worth. The easiest way to play those videos is
to just remove the Adobe Flashpayer because then it will automatically pull
up the youtube app to play the embedded youtube video and you won't have to
worry about trying to tap on the 'x' to remove the advertisement that covers
up the bottom part of the video.

3. One more thing that points to a problem with the Vizio Tablet using the
wrong version of the Flashplayer is loading up Dolphin Browser HD. But when
you run the Dolphin Browser HD the first time make sure when you answer the
first few questions you say always use the Flashplayer and set it up as a
Desktop browser.

Then after you have the Dolphin Browser setup to always use Flash and as the
desktop browser go to iheart.com and select any radio station. After it
starts to play use two fingers to zoom in on the page. The things on the
page will expand as if they are not connected and you will not be able to
move the player itself but you will not have any problem moving what is
below the player. I tried that exact same thing on a Gingerbread tablet and
it worked as expected where everything expands as if they are all connected
together and then everything on the page also move around together.

Yes, I'm pissed at Vizio for trying to say the other software will be
upgraded when they really have no idea whatsoever when the Flashplayer that
Adobe wrote for them will be upgraded or they would have just waited and
then added it to their Honeycomb update. And when I complained about the
Flashplayer they were using being the problem with the Vizio Tablet then
Vizio told me they were using version 11 of the Flashplayer but the Tablet
itself says they are using version 10.3 of the Flashplayer so they are far
from the latest version.

God, I wish Vizio would give me a way to undo the damage their upgrade did
to my Vizio Tablet because it turned what was my best Android device for
playing youtube videos into my worst Android device for playing youtube
videos.
