It's been quite a while since I have visited here. Believe it or not at one time we actually discussed computer issues and tried to help each other with technical problems.

In any case here goes: A program called "ZTE handset USB driver" has mysteriously appeared on my list of programs. I did a little research and found that it is used to communicate with ZTE telephones.

My system uses Win 7 32 bitt I don't have a ZTE handset and I use Magicjack.

My question: Is it advisable to simply remove the program?

Try zipping the executable and rebooting and see if things still work.
If so, stick it in a folder and ignore it for a few weeks. You can
delete it after you're sure you didnt break anything :)

IMHO, if you don't have a ZTE handset or one that is based ZTE hardware,
then you don't need any drivers or programs for ZTE hardware.

As you've neglected to tell us exactly which make and model of handset
you do have, here is where the diagnostics end.
