VLC Player too dark

Video seems too dark.
I found this:

Only changing any of it doesn't seem to have any effect.

thats "too dark", then its the video, not VLC's settings. Try their
forum for expert help.

I will give those a shot next time I come across a dark video. Having
them right on the player menu is much more convenient.
