As AVG was scanning this directory (sorry for the incorrect slash marks) ...
c:/user/myname/AppData/Local/temp

...I noticed numerous leftover remnants from programs deleted long ago.

Is there any reason why I shouldn't simply delete all files in the above
/temp directory ???

thanks. digger.

Generally speaking, that is to say, as long as you're not right in the
middle of something, you can ALWAYS delete the entire contents of any
"temp", "TEMP", "Temp" folder; even C:\TEMP and or C:\Windows\temp, etc.,
and, in fact, if you right-click | Ctrl-A | Delete your
C:\Documents and Settings\[myname]\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
while your in the middle of a surfing session - it won't hurt a darn thing
because Windows/IE/your-browser will simply replace the files if they
become needed to continue...

Most of the time... The exception I can think of is like if you want the
FBI to be able to recover porn files or slave-trading sites from your
computer to find out who's been doing the nasties or planning to blow up
some airliners with the notorious "crotch-bomb" latest trend...

Damn terrorists... now when I fly those black wimmins who work for TSA have
a "duty" to feel-up my junk before I get on the plane... I guess I should
rejoice and be grateful that dumbass terrorist wannabe didn't stick the
bomb up his bum... <whew!> <shudders!>

You should not view the world in terms
of things which you do - or do not - "like";
rather, you should view the world in terms
of how things "actually are", recognizing
and finding acceptance of them as such.

This would immeasurably bring *much* more

I could help you with that... but...
I really just don't like you that much.
