Hi,

I have an old PI 200mmx and the motherboard is kind of special...

It has 4 slots EDO ram (72pin simm) which is ok, but there are two
black slots that says "UDRAM" 3.3v with 168pins and they look a
lot like sdram dimm.

The PC100-133 sdram fits in it... but I can't clip it on both ends,
cause the memory sticks cavities are too high for the slots clamps !

Does anybody knows about that kind of memory ?

Thanks

Go to Crucial RAM, put in the PC make and model or m/b type, it will tell you the right type of memory.

Very useful link Kenny !
But unfortunately they don't have any option for an Elpina motherboard.

I'm willing to bet that it's Unbuffered DRAMs, possibly EDO 3.3V,
like fits my wife's Macintosh 4400/200. But I could be wrong, since I'm
guessing at it.

Then it's not fitting in properly. So don't force it.

DIMM isn't always SDRAM, so there's a chance that it's FPM or EDO in
that socket.

Seeing that you identify the board as an Elpina in a later message,
doing a quick Google for Elpina, I find that it's listed as being a PCChips
company. Why not Google for "PCChips Lottery" (no quotes) and seeing if you
can find out more details on that board?

Very interesting Mr Phillips !

Nerver heard of EDO/FPM 168pins.
I'll do my homework and I'll get back to you...

Thanks for the heads up!

Philip,
I'm willing to bet that RWP is correct on this one. If it's
UDRAM - it's most likely unbuffered.

With regard to the Front Page Mode (FPM) or Extended Data Out (EDO),
definitely make sure you get the right one.
