A book I just tried to upload to alt.binaries.e-books.technical failed to
appear - it worked fine on the similarly named alt.binaries.e-book.technical
(no "s" on books).

Currently Xnews shows no posts at all on alt.binaries.e-books.technical,
while Outlook Express shows only one post - are there any settings I should
examine or is it some strangeness at the server?

On previous occasions alt.binaries.e-books.technical has had steady traffic,
but never as much as alt.binaries.e-book.technical.

TIA.

Try to Upload with power post it's better and put the part at 2048
Forget the Outlook to post Binaries

Thanks - for the binaries I only use OE to see if it downloads a load of new
headers, if it does I launch Xnews to see if they're anything worth
downloading.

Name of book, post info, hard to find by guessing.

>>>alt.binaries.e-book.technical
>>>(no "s" on books).

This will be off the knackerd VM bin server then? Where it appears at
least some groups go missing and reappear (maybe only the VM* groups).
Couldn't be bothered looking as I use VM text only, Giganews/Forte for
everything else.

Giganews :
alt.binaries.e-books.technical 12,279
alt.binaries.e-book.technical 3,884,818

This makes getting the correct name fun :-)

alt.binaries.ebook.technical 9,594
alt.binaries.ebooks.technical 9,038
alt.binaries.ebooks-technical 509

With OE, it's often mentioned unsubscribe and resubscribe to a group.

Which server?

Try again! - File 1 of 1 - yEnc "TTL-Cookbook.pdf" 6060508 bytes

The quality leaves a lot to be desired, that's the worst print quality
ever in a SAMS book. Either that or the scan settings need tweaked and
tested before posting.

Not that bad for a first attempt - I left the default scanner resolution
because I was worried how big the files would get.

I've downloaded MUCH MUCH worse from supposed regular posters.

Chuck you know he's the one asking the question, you're not supposed to answer
his question with more questions.

He didn't post it to a test group

It's in the header

Look for it, I have it's not there. Why found it, so it did make it.

You posted this AFTER it was resolved, I knew you couldn't read!

Not necessarily. In fact he'd have *much* better luck otherwise.

Riight. One hour *before* his reply. Still haven't got an adult to explain
time zones to you have you?

Why is yours wrong? You need to find an adult!
