I was having computer problems and someone suggested that I flash the Bios.

Really did not see how that could help...but what the heck

might as well give it a try.

Took off my clothes.

Put on my shoes and pants legs.

a fedora and trench coat.

Off to the local library and went to the biography section.

How many times are you going to post this joke? 'Till you get some
LOLs? ;-)

It's cute. Flash the Bios. Cute. :-)

Q: How can I get thrown out of the local library?
A: Flash the Bios with a floppy.

It's only the second time I've posted it.

I will not post it again this year.

Yeah

when I told that joke a few days ago I used "book store" rather than library

appreciate the excellent feedback!

I'll keep posting that joke with other variations until I get it exactly
right.

You want him to advertise the fact that he has a 3.5-inch floppy?
At least mine is a 5.25-incher.

I still have an 8" floppy one, I just took it and inspected it. Good

No as a matter of fact *I'm* the one that consistantly tells people
*not* to flash their BIOS unless they *absolutely* know that there is no
other solution. You don't have the depth of though to act that way.

And what does that have to do with anyone talking about flashing a BIOS?
I merely explained *why* hybernation exists. Quite factually and
correctly. The fact that the trolls didn't agree means nothing.

However I did find this little gem:

Message-ID: <Xns9C8DD41D15...@127.0.0.1>

Me answering precisely and you not even knowing it or admitting it.

No, it's a thread where someone was asking why their computer wouldn't
stay in hybernation. Pay attention to your own advice.

But you can't do it now or provide those message-id's. Even the *one*

No, you found a trivial example: one where windows wasn't completely
installed and the OP hadn't made any backups despite this being the case
for weeks apparently..

Snip of the above case posted in the message unnecessarily. If people
want a transcript, they can get it verbatim from the message-id and
without your creative editing.

o.. Yes. 3 people told you you were wrong, and poof, you vanish.

No, you found three people who *claimed* they were right and had no
conception (or at least *claimed* this) of what hybernation was intended
for. Not a disproof of anything. None of them gave a proper explanation
of why hybernation would exist aside from my claim either. Certainly
none different from sleep - which *is* completely different. There were
people who supported my view as I recall as well, but of course you're
not going to mention them.

Once, not so long ago, he has instructed me to format all drives and then
come back to him for further peace of the advice. I, though inexperienced,
did not act upon his advice, but a less experienced ones may not suspect the
disaster and could cat upon. But, I did thanked him for the advice,
nevertheless.

That was me that his instruction was directed to. I do not say much, but we
