Please excuse the off topic post, but there are very smart
people in this group. :)

I tried searching on google, but could not find anything.

My fiancee wants to get rid of her old castro. I looked inside
the couch. It looks like a few bolts on the side of the couch, and
a bunch of springs. If I have a wrench, a screwdriver and some goggles is
that enough?

Are the pieces heavy to carry? Will the resulting pieces fit through a regular
door? My fiancee thinks that the people that brought the castro in, assembled
it in the living room.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm not sure about the Castro brand name, but I've taken apart and
reassembled other "hide-a-beds" before. In almost every case the bed
mechanism is held in place with only 4 bolts. It works best to have the sofa
on a couple of sawhorses. Looking from underneath, find the bolts that hold
the mechanism in place and loosen them. Then lift the sofa off the bedframe.

But it's usually easier to move it all in one piece, depending on the design
of the furniture. Make sure to tie down the bed mechanism or it can open at
the most inopportune time, perhaps clipping some fingers in the process.

Whatever you do, if you attempt moving it without dismantling-take Roger's
advice about securing the mechanism very seriously for he is absolutely
correct - there are many professional movers minus fingers for not doing
this tie down before moving a castro or any other hide-a-bed. 'Two Finger
Jack"
