Great Race!!

Ian,

Once again you put on a great race!! The coordination and volunteers
were incredible. I have two comments from the point of view of
someone that has done the 8 hour race for the past 3 years.

First, it was a dis-appointment that there was no food or beer as
there has been in past years. After racing for even 8 hours, it is
nice to have some refreshment after the race.

Second, there seemed to be lack of participation this year. My
initial thoughts were the time of year and it not being a long
weekend. Do you or anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Thanks for your comments I'm glad you enjoyed the race.

I've brought beer each year but found that only a small fraction of it
is consumed. Although I'd like to accommodate everyone's desires and
whims, everyone want's something different. Some like blue, some hate
blue ... The the event costs me considerable time AND money to put on
(i.e. it's not profitable) so my priority is to spend on essentials
like safety and permits first. If my checkbook can stand it I throw
you a bit of a party, but this is getting increasingly more difficult
after 4 years in the red.

Numbers were down 50% this is partly a reflection on the economy,
partly on the date. Cherry Creek State Park does not allow events on
Labor day now, and venues that allow 24 hour events are few and
expensive. Don't worry I'm looking for ways to make it work.

The later date with the potential for cooler (cold) weather was a deterrent for me. I volunteered instead and enjoyed that immensely.
