Dear Group 35 (22-24th Batch),
I am not sure how this group e-mail will be circulated. Thanks Beruny from 23rd to send this group e-mail address. Basically I am addressing this to my batch mates of 22nd Batch.
As you know that Akhtar Hossain from 22nd Batch is seriously ill with a liver tumor and he is undergoing treatment in Singapore. Our batch mates living in Singapore just came to know about his situation and moved him to Alamgir's house.
Considering the very high cost of this treatment and his dire economic condition at this moment, I have suggested that we should formally provide some financial help to him. I have also got many calls from some seniors and juniors after my posting of his in Facebook.
Akhtar needs to take 4 tablets a day, of a market price of S$ 400. With some subsidy now price has come down to S$250. If we add various doctor's bill and pathology cost, he needs minimum S$ 10,000 in a month. He shall undergo this treatment for 15 days before the next check-up.
After discussion with Akhtar, Sarwar and Alamgir, I have suggested Sarwar to forward his below account detail to us and we shall contribute into this:
Account No: 420 300 9393
Account Name: Sarwar Tariq
Swift Code: UOVBSGSG
Address: UOB Bank, 11 Rivervale Cresent, #01-33, Riverdale Mall, Singapore.
Please note that we need to raise at least S$ 20, 000 by next two weeks and we are expecting that each of out batch mates from 22nd batch will be able to contribute S$ 1000 on this occasion. Our seniors and juniors can contribute as per their wish. If we need more in the future, we may have to ask the broader maritime community later.
If you are sending any money to this account for this purpose, please send a notification to Sarwar and me for the account keeping.

Fellow Academy Ex-Cadets,আসসালামু ওয়ালাইকুম,The "Testing 6" was well received and it is indeed a noble initiative.I am thrilled to be connected with all my seniors and juniors after so many years since we left the Marine Academy.Formation of this group could not be at a better time:I spoke to our senior Akhter Hossain sir after 25 years! Captain Akhter Hossain has been critically ill and undergoing treatment in Singapore; his good batch mates in Singapore are giving much needed shelter and support in all respect. But I felt that further collective financial help would be required soon.I am in touch with Faraizee Sir here; I hope and request one of them of 22nd batch would let us know when and how can we contribute.Meanwhile we all pray to Allah almighty for his full recovery. Thanks and Best regards.Beruny23rd
