I don't think the link itself is malicious since it does come legitimately from Meetup. It's a pretty widespread meetup phishing campaign though where they are trying to con people. I suppose if you want to mess with them and waste their time, feel free to do so. :)

It will turn out to be a fairly common scam where they entice you with something pretty, but then, oh no, something came up and they need something from you first
