Hi all,

I'm asking for your help. We're working on a project to make an
interactive map of vacant lots in Bed Stuy using Google Maps. As many
of you know, there are countless empty lots throughout the community
but little public knowledge of their ownership, potential build out
under current zoning codes, and general condition. Our idea is that by
identifying these vacant lots we can find opportunities for creative
projects and uses that benefit the community.

If you identify a vacant lot in your neighborhood and have always
wondered who owns it, what it is zoned for, or have an idea for how it
could be better utilized, please follow these steps:

1. Zoom into the lot on Google Maps
2. Be sure to center the lot in the middle of the screen
3. Hit the "LINK" button (top right corner of the map)
4. Copy and paste the link address into an email to
quinn...@gmail.com (Include a brief description of your hopes/
dreams/concerns for the lot).

When I get your email, I will perform basic research on the property
and add it to the Public Map

The Public Map is located here:

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=115942734141534010076.0004691f7674922afb153&ll=40.679983,-73.934437&spn=0.001607,0.002789&t=h&z=18

Please keep your vacant lots limited to Bed Stuy. It would be great to
grow later but for now likely better to perfect it at a smaller scale
first.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

This map is fantastic!

The lot I think about most is on Lafayette and Throop. It would be a
great community garden, it gets a lot of light and has fantastic
visibility:
