I have searched across the internet for a methodologies that have
aligned existing tool sets or created new tool sets to solve the
issues of the 21st century organization.
The results of my research is interesting...
There are many organizations and individuals that claim 21st century
Process Improvement...but the stuff they list are last century's stuff
repackaged!
I believe that the most honest Process Improvement providers are those
who claim that they can still address issues with what they know
well...(this is true)
Many believe that the 21st century's organizational issues are the
same as they were in the 20th century...
On the outside they do look the same...but the drivers are
different...and the way solutions are driven to fruition are also
different...
There is a need for a 21st century Process Improvement methodology...
The New Brass Ring (DMADD) presents a possibility for the next
generation of Process Improvement...
It is being provided by the Continuous Improvement Institute (Cii)...
You can see more about Cii at
http://www.thecii.com
The book introducing the DMADD methodology is called "The New Brass
RIng" can be seen at

The new strategy is called "Solution Driven" problem solving...
This stands against the strategy presented by Six Sigma which I have
classified as "Discovery Driven" problem Solving...
We'll be digging into this deeper as the discussions ensue...
