Subject: Request for References - Cohort 2
To:

Dear Cohort Leaders,
I hope that all of you are doing great and getting ready for your workshops.

Thank you for your participation in the Third Immersion Week.  As shared, please do send references of potential companies for the next cohort.

I am sending an outline below for your reference and sharing with others.

Applications for our 2019 cohort opens shortly, so we are now beginning our search for the most promising CEOs/founders in India.

Please note that we are particularly interested in empowering women business owners and for-profit social enterprises, though we are open to those from all industries.

I am  including additional information on the program below.

Interested candidates can send their contact information to me, Vipul Rastogi (vipu...@stanford.edu) or Mohan Loganathan (moha...@stanford.edu), along with your name as a reference.

Overview of the Seed Transformation Program:

Seed is a Stanford Graduate School of Business-led initiative working to end the cycle of global poverty. One of Seed’s core components is the Seed Transformation Program (STP), a yearlong program that helps established business leaders grow and scale their businesses, create jobs, and lead their regions to greater prosperity.

The program consists of four Immersion Weeks in which participants receive business and leadership training from renowned Stanford faculty and other leaders. In between Immersion Weeks, Seed facilitators host Leadership Labs, opportunities for program participants to come together to define their Transformation Plans, discuss business problems, and discover solutions. Facilitators then visit each CEO’s/founder’s company and provide training to their management team.

Once the 12-month program is complete, cohort leaders become members of the Seed Transformation Network, a network that offers additional resources, such as networking opportunities and access to coaches, consultants and Stanford student interns.

The Ideal Participant

We are looking for high-potential, ambitious CEOs/founders who aim to grow their companies. Applicants should be the key decision-makers of a business with annual revenue between US $150,000 and $15 million. The company must be a legally registered, for-profit organisation which operates in India.

Program Fees

Thanks to the generous contributions of philanthropic donors, this program is highly subsidized and offered to participants for a fee of $5,000 USD.  Limited partial scholarships are available.

Impact

Launched in India in 2017, the Seed Transformation Program has supported business leaders in enhancing their business expertise, exchanging ideas, sharing knowledge, and transforming their companies, as illustrated in this photo essay published by the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Initially launched in Africa, the program's impact in the region has been widespread; 62% of participants have increased their revenue and created new jobs following completion of the program. 58% of participants now do business with one another, and over $25m USD in capital has been raised.

To learn more about the program, view this short film. Get to know some of of our program participants through the short film series, Profiles of Purpose.  Additional details on the program are available at Stanford Seed.

Kind regards,

Vipul
