Is there anyone out there? (crickets). If you do come across this, please reply. I may need a lifeline during the next 21 days.
Even though there is almost non existent chance at a response, I thought I would write about my experience anyways. It takes my mind off eating. :)
I completed my first 21 day detox in 2009. I lost 16 pounds, getting down to 128 lbs (I'm 34 yrs old and 5'5" so my ideal body weight is between 125 and 130). I kept the weight off three years, until last year, when I started to make poorer choices with regard to my health. I also got really sick and believe my use of antibiotics may have created a candida problem in my system. So keeping weight off was more difficult and, to be honest, after the year I had with my grandfather dying and my parents both being ill, I had given up. In one short year I gained over 30 pounds!!!!
I couldn't believe the number when I stepped on the scale, 160!!! I have never been that heavy in my life. I felt like I was living in a fog, moving slower, feeling lethargic, not mentally sharp and I just stopped caring.
The number on the scale was a big wake up call and I realized that the new pattern I had adopted is what causes disease. I didn't want to wake up one morning and find that I had some more serious illness because of the poor choices I was making. I knew what I needed to do to begin healing my body again. So here I am!
It is Day 1. I'm feeling happy, energetic, excited about transforming my body and HUNGRY!!! But tonight I'm going to make a batch of free soup to have with me at work from now on.
If anyone drops into the group and wants to share their experiences with me along the way, it would be great to have a detox buddy to share experiences with.
Carolyn :)
