SUMMER HUES

The heat and the waves
and the burning light
burn a whole symphony
of sounds
scattered in my mind.

Each sound reminds me
of a time
when our shoulders
touched the universe
just by touching
each other.

Each stroke of heatwave
gave us sunburns
burning
till moments of tiresome confession.

We conversed in silence looking at the sea.
Looking for new sounds
to scatter
in our minds.

Refined noise.
Stinking ground.

I only remember the smell.
Not the sound.

Biography:

Kirila Cvetkovska, Macedonian, Macedonia 1990, currently living in Macedonia.

I am Kirila Cvetkovska, a researcher  and artist from Macedonia. My research and art practice dwell on the themes of collective memory, reminiscence, loss and detachment, analyzing the cross-cultural values that encompass these issues and their manifestation. I am engaged in discovering the links between poetry, photography, history, art history and psychology, while generating a blend of empirical and artistic examination of the past and current social, as well as personal tensions we experience. My particular practice is a quest for nurturing creativity and original expression, meditating on the exchange of cultural values and liberating oneself from the restraints of consumerism.
