Hi Afrifa,

Dialogue can be a writer’s most useful tool, but it’s notoriously tricky to get right. Next week, join us for a two-part dialogue workshop and learn how to skip the stiff chit-chat and craft conversations that actually move your story forward.

In this two-part event, editors Becky Wallace and Kim Smith will cover:

How to use dialogue for character and plot development
Techniques for avoiding wooden, stilted exchanges
The difference between dialogue tags and action beats
Correct uses of punctuation and quotation marks in dialogue

There’s also the chance to get live feedback on your own writing. Register for instructions on how to submit a short dialogue example for consideration.
