[WAADE] Community Learning Exchange: Peacemaking and Healing Workshop!

Hello WAADEers!

I'm writing you about an awesome workshop that is coming up - "Peacemaking and Healing: Leadership Practices for Healthy, Inclusive Communities".  The workshop is being run by Community Learning Exchange in partnership with The Center for Ethical Leadership.

This workshop is aimed at developing collective leadership within communities with the theme of Peacemaking and Healing as leadership practices.  The Community Learning Exchange provides an opportunity for community leaders from across the nation to come together and examine challenges, exchange successful approaches, and become familiar with tools that can drive local change. There will be about 20-30 folks from out of state in attendance.

Talya and I have done Peacemaking Workshops with the Center for Ethical Leadership in the past and I can honestly say that it is an amazing experience. Peacemaking circles create such a open and accepting space for for individuals to enter authentically. The result is a powerful process for people to hear and be heard, understand and be understood, and allow for real positive community based change to move forward.  

This workshop is geared for teams engaged in community work. So far Talya and I are making up what she is so modestly calling "team awesome" (when I joined, she was the only team member and luckily I made the cut!). We are looking for a few others interested in joining our team and engaging in what should be an insightful and inspirational three days.  Here are the details...

When:

Thursday May 15, 4:00pm - 9:00pm

Friday May 16th, 8:30am -  dinner and possibly some evening entertainment

Saturday May 17th, 8:30am - dinner (probably 7:30 or 8:00pm)

Sunday is a travel day for those who are coming from out of town

Where:

Thursday and Friday: Silver Cloud Hotel Stadium on 1^st Ave S across from Safeco Field

Saturday:  City Hall, the Bertha Knight Landes room

Cost:

$100....yes $100 including the workshop, meals, and materials. A little amazing , I know.
