Position: Software Engineer
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin/ Rochester (New York)
Duration: Long Term Contract
Job Description:
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing Engineering team. You will accelerate innovation with design, development, testing, debugging, documentation, commissioning, training and support activities that build intelligent Distribution Center Order Fulfillment Software Solutions.
Core Job Responsibilities:
. You will contribute to functional specifications and develop software
. You will implement project customizations and configurations per design
. Conduct quality testing and integration of new or updated systems
. Perform installs, commission, and test application software as part of an integrated solution
. You will conduct training for customers and key-users
. Provide primary level support of installed systems
. Continually work to identify improvements

Technical Knowledge You Possess
. Understanding of software design principles and best practices
. Practical experience with C programming
. Experience delivering software systems in real-time environments
. Proficiency in other programming languages a plus
. General knowledge of database design and programming experience
. Knowledge and understanding of Linux operating systems
. General knowledge of Web Services (SOAP, REST), Socket Programming
. Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and TestRail
. Experience with version control (git and or Mercurial)
. Experience with Scrum and Waterfall software development life cycles
Education and Experience Requirements:
. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or applicable Engineering discipline
. 1 – 5+ yrs of software engineering experience
. Industrial automation industry experience (WMS or WCS) a plus
. Willingness to travel 20% - 40%
